Crystal Bridges at the Massey

I am currently in a show at Crystal Bridges at the Massey. It is called The Reconstructing Art Walk.
Crystal Bridges at the Massey is a temporary exhibition space and educational and community art center.
Crystal Bridges Web site states, "Highlighting the finest regional artists, the annual Bentonville Art Walk festival will take new shape this year as downtown Bentonville undergoes numerous construction projects. The Reconstructing Art Walk exhibition will serve as the cornerstone of activity for this year’s festival and will be comprised of artworks by past participants in Art Walk. Juried by Chris Crosman, chief curator of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, a wide variety of media will be represented to showcase the diversity of our regional artists. Downtown Bentonville, Inc. and Crystal Bridges at the Massey are joining forces to produce and promote Reconstructing Art Walk, to continue to celebrate and promote artists from our region.
The opening was May 16th and last night was an art walk and artists talk. Ben Edwards, exhibitions assistant and Chris Crossman leading Art Walk artists in conversation about their art regarding use of all sorts of lines in thier work to make shapes, patterns, and outlines.
The event was well attended. The art piece I had selected in the juried show is titled "Pillow Tuck". It is a ceramic and stainless steel wall hanging mounted on wood. I am proud for my art to be selected as only 28 artists are in the show.

Starting A New Business

My new business, ART, is fun and exciting and also a lot of work. Well, mostly fun. I know how successful it is going to be and that even makes it more exciting. I can't wait to make all the things I have ideas to create. Art is a retail gallery and my studio where I paint and do commissioned art work in pastel, acrylic, oil, and watercolor. I also create in clay, making sculptures, pottery, hand built items, architectural ceramics, and anything I can get the clay to do! Some of the items include sinks, birdbaths, signs, fireplace and door surrounds, moldings, tables, and bars.

ART is on Highway 102 (or S. E. 14th Street) in Bentonville, Arkansas. Bentonville is home to Wal-Mart Headquarters and the Future home of Crystal Bridges Art Museum. It is in the very fast growing area of Northwest Arkansas.

The best part of getting to make what I want and getting to do what I want and have to do is that it gives joy to other people.
Teaching is another thing that is rewarding because I can inspire and help develop skills in another person.

We all can achieve what we dream. It was never a dream for me to own my own retail gallery and studio. My desire is just to create art. The rest came about from that passion. I have already met some wonderful people I never would have met if not for having the gallery and I am having so much fun creating.

Follow your heart but mostly, believe! See yourself already doing what you heart desires as if it has already happened. Know it!
Believe it and it will be true.
